Michael Deegan-McCree, CEO and Co-Founder of McCree Mirikian Strategies

Michael Deegan-McCree

Co-Founder & CEO

Michael is a Co-Founder of McCree Mirikian Strategies and serves as the firm's CEO and Principal Director of the firm's Domestic Division.

 

Michael is an expert political strategist with over a decade of experience in electoral, legislative, and communications strategy, helping to build and direct some of the most visible electoral and legislative campaigns over the last ten years. Most notably, Michael was a lead advisor to Jessica Jackson and Van Jones in 2018 on the campaign that passed the FIRST Step Act through Congress. The New York Times called the legislation “the most substantial reform bill in a generation.”

 

More recently, Michael served as a Political Battleground Director at Indivisible, where he built the grassroots messaging strategy for Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego's successful campaign. He also served as the Chief of Staff for the voting-rights organizations All Voting is Local and All Voting is Local Action. In addition, he served as a Special Assistant to former California Congresswoman Barbara Lee and was awarded the New Leaders Council Fellowship in 2020.

Vahe Mirikian

Co-Founder & President

Vahe is a Co-Founder of McCree Mirikian Strategies and serves as the firm's President and Principal Director of the firm's International Affairs Division.

Vahe is an expert strategist with over a decade of experience in geopolitical, international, and civil society strategy. Most recently, Vahe served as Managing Director of Peace Direct's U.S. Office, where he led and implemented the strategic operations and advocacy to deliver the organization's vision of shifting power and resources to those closest to the problem. He developed the organization's global advocacy strategy to effectively engage with and influence policy in the U.S., the U.N., the U.K., and the E.U. Vahe is also part of the International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) Fellows Association, class of 2023.
